Uber has exited Nigeria π³π¬ after 12 years and Uganda πΊπ¬ after 10 years, ending its ride-hailing services in both countries.
The exits follow a review of Uberβs African operations. The company continues to operate in Egypt, Ghana, Kenya and South Africa.
The move comes as Uber begins a major global restructuring that includes about 3,300 job cuts, roughly 10% of its workforce, as the company simplifies its operations and shifts focus toward areas such as autonomous vehicles.
