As the President of DR Congo, Mobutu Sese Seko made his hometown, Gbadolite a luxurious town.

He built a hydroelectric dam, an international airport, three large palaces, a top notch hospital, school, nuclear bunker and luxury church in the town.

His palaces are now in ruins.
